Embroidery as architecture. This open abaya is built around a single, defining embellishment: a sculptural gold rope embroidery in a free-form coral and network pattern, applied to the shoulders, upper chest and sleeve cuffs with a density and three-dimensionality that reads as jewellery rather than decoration. The gold rope — thick, raised and precisely laid — traces an irregular, organic network of curves and crossings across the black ground, with small crystal studs scattered throughout the composition, catching the light at every angle. The same embroidery panel is repeated at each cuff, framed above by a fine burgundy stitch line and a narrow gold ribbon trim, and finished with two large gold circular metal buttons — decorative, considered and precisely placed.
The abaya opens on a full-length concealed zip running from the stand collar to the hem, flanked on both sides by a narrow gold ribbon trim that runs the full length of the front opening — a clean, linear gold accent that connects the front closure to the embroidered shoulder panels above and the embroidered cuffs below, creating a unified gold framework across the entire garment. The stand collar is neat and upright, the fabric smooth and composed throughout. The abaya falls in a full, generous silhouette to a complete floor-trailing hem.
